Too much of the county's open space preservation funds are going towards "recreation" and "historic preservation" instead of the preservation of real open space. The freeholders are misusing our tax dollars that are supposed to go towards open space. Every time the freeholders waste millions on some tiny barrier island lot or yet another athletic field, there are less funds available to protect real open space or to preserve bigger pieces of land if the opportunity arises.
