MTHS is losing students because of its reputation and staff cuts, not because of lack of electives. Teachers that have tried to discipline students quickly find out administrators will not back them up. They stop writing referrals and look the other way. Same is true with grades. Teachers get tired of being harassed about low, but deserved student grades, so they inflate them. MTHS can boost enrollment if it gets tough on problem students and allows students to actually earn their grades. Until then, enrollment will continue to decline.
