Two things can be true at the same time. The Iranian regime is brutal & oppressive. It has murdered its own people and crushed dissent. For millions of Iranians who have waited decades for this regime to fall, what happened to its leaders is not a tragedy. It is long overdue. BUT it is also true that what Trump just did is unconstitutional, reckless, impulsive, and driven entirely by self-interest. The question was never whether the Iranian regime deserved to fall. The question is whether one man had the right to launch a war in violation of the Constitution he swore to protect.
