Trump just gave Erika Kirk a seat overseeing the Air Force Academy and told us straight up it was about Christianity. The Constitution's ban on religious tests apparently doesn't apply anymore. The White House spokesperson said Trump made "the perfect choice," citing Kirk's "bold Christian faith, defense of the truth, and deep love of country”. That’s lovely, but those are NOT résumé qualifications. The Constitution explicitly bars religious tests for public office. The White House apparently didn't get the memo.
