They called it a pledge.

Town Bank - They called it a pledge. They didn't have to call it that, could have said it was a statement or something. But they said pledge and in America that takes it to the highest heartfelt level. When we now hear of people like Jeb Bush and others saying they won't honor the pledge, it reveals to us the true content of their character. Thankfully they will not be our president. The man honoring the pledge will be. How ironic. Remember when they said "we all must sign the pledge," and they gave their solemn word and signed it? Turned out their word meant nothing.
