Town Bank - There was a recent spout on the bay sidewalk project raising a concern that the new road and sidewalk would continue to sink without adding a retaining wall. In reply, the editor suggested there's no issue, as the sidewalk in the Crest has been there for years without a problem. That's not a fair comparison at all. Unlike the Crest, Shore Drive currently has steep drop-offs (10') into the dunes from the road's edge and, as a result, the road had severely dipped over time. If this drop off isn't corrected, the repaved road and a new sidewalk along that edge will surely dip again.
