Town Bank - Something I’ve been wondering about lately is why do we allow government officials, both local, and national, to vote themselves a raise? In my previous career, I don’t recall ever being given the opportunity to do this, and I was always given a review by a superior who, based on my metrics for the previous year, decided what increase I would receive. I certainly would have appreciated the opportunity to review myself if given the chance, however, in my estimation, reviewing one’s self allows too much self appreciation into the equation. Citizens are much more than an endless source of money.
