Murphy and other state Democrats: Democrats don’t put people out of work, and they certainly shouldn’t invest in programs that cause unemployment, like corporate tax breaks, a.k.a. corporate welfare. Trump did this, paying for it with middle-class tax increases. If tax breaks are to be given, there must be penalties. If the corporation doesn’t meet employment growth, they lose a percentage of the tax break. If lower figures continue, then the tax break can be canceled. If the corporation pulls up stakes and tries to leave New Jersey, they must repay the state.
