Tax increases, whether national or local in the wake of the fiscal damage done by the pandemic is one of the most foolish ideas I have ever seen. Many people are trying to recover from loss of income, spending money to try and implement safety measures to comply with regulations to reopen their business, or make up from lowered productivity cause by working from home. The government needs to live within their means, just like the rest of us. Instead, they focus on taxing the job creators, and banning books and free speech to placate the foolish. Raising taxes suppresses growth. Economics 101.
