To the Rio Grande spouter who is concerned about the sound of firearms: It's only too bad that the state of NJ is so restrictive. The ability to purchase silencers would reasonably eliminate much of the carried sound of shots. Sadly, this is not allowed in NJ. If I used a silencer, my rifle would then be considered an 'assault' weapon, making me a felon. Same is true if it had a bayonet lug. Go figure. How many robberies have been committed with a bayonet?
