To the spouter who stated that Republicans died in the Civil War to free slaves and voted to free them you are correct! What you didn’t fact check is the History of both parties! The Republican Party was founded by anti-slavery Democrats in which Lincoln was their first president who abolished slavery. The Democratic Party at that time stood in opposition to civil rights championed by the Republicans. An ideological shift happened in both parties by the 1960’s to what they are today. So basically the Republican Party became the Democratic Party and vice versa! Go check those facts!
