There was a time when the HS exit exam was a reasonable test of basic skills (the HSPT/HSPA). 12 years ago this was replaced w/ the PARCC which cost millions more, tested at too many grades, and was purposefully too difficult so that the same company that made the test could earn millions more selling schools teach to the test curriculum. So now NJ wants to eliminate HS exit exams? So the only measure we'll have of a HS's success will be its graduation rates and administrators already dumb down standards to pad this stat. Lets just return to a reasonable exit exam like the HSPA.
