The Open Spaces program needs to get busy preserving open space again. It should not just wait for landowners to contact them. The Open Spaces program needs to initiate contact with anyone selling land and even landowners that aren't. The woods and open spaces in this county have never been in greater risk. There is always someone trying to build houses in places where nothing should be built. The planning and zoning boards are clearly willing to let developers destroy everything until there is nothing to destroy.
