The Middle Thorofare bridge does need replacing but the County shouldn’t build a more expensive bridge than necessary just because the County isn’t willing to tear down the old one before a new one is built. More wetlands shouldn’t be sacrificed simply because people do not want the inconvenience of not having a bridge there for a few years. Wildlife habitat is constantly being sacrificed in the name of tourism and money. A new taller bridge can be built in the exact same land as the old one with destroying wetlands for less cost.
