The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts serves as THE living memorial to President John F. Kennedy. Originally authorized in 1958 as the National Cultural Center, it was renamed following JFK's 1963 assassination. It is beyond disrespectful to rename any President’s memorial. And closing it to “renovate” is also wildly disrespectful. What else would he like to slap his name on? The Washington Monument? The Lincoln Memorial? Isn’t an oversized ballroom, and now a massive concrete archway enough? I’m sickened by this.
