The holiday decorations were put together & overseen by the Patriots of West Wildwood & the Ladies Auxiliary — volunteers, not a central planning committee with unlimited resources & a five-year lighting plan. The spouter’s expectation of flawless, uniform, perfectly executed cheer suggests they might feel more comfortable somewhere with a stronger appreciation for rigid conformity — perhaps Red Square, Ho Chi Minh City, Tiananmen Square or Elmer, NJ. Here in West Wildwood, we tend to appreciate effort, community spirit, and volunteers who step up — even if a bulb burns out
