The county should not spend over $350 million on a new bridge. Just tear down the old bridge and build a new one on the exact same footprint as the original. The incline could start further back so boats to pass underneath. Not a single acre of marsh should destroyed. The environment shouldn’t be sacrificed for a bridge that is barely used for most of the year, especially considering that there are already 2 bridges leading the island. Build a simpler, cheaper bridge. It would be completed sooner too.
