Swainton - An interesting article titled "Marsh Gets New Life," however, what it fails to point out is beach replenishment is destroying our marsh land. Army Corps pumps loose sand onto our beaches with nothing to hold sand in place. Sand moves with tides and the wind and the loose sand starts choking our inlets, marshes or building a larger beach in Wildwood. This has been going on since 1963 with the same results. Anytime you move sand with nothing to hold it, the result is moving sand to areas of less tide movement.
