Swainton - Great article in last week's Herald (Oct. 2) re: the need for nonresidents who are paying the bulk of taxes in Cape May County to be allowed to vote. If that was allowed, I am sure we would have more competent people running the county. Look around. Bridges are falling apart, recreational areas are closed except for bike paths, which see less than a quarter percent of residents using them. Fishing access is closed and roads are in horrible shape. Clearly, this county needs to find competent people to run and get elected. For that to happen, elections need to be open to all taxpayers in county, but I am not holding my breath.
