I went to the Middle b-ball playoff games. A local politician was in front of me in line. He tried to get out of paying $3 to get in the game by saying his name was "on the list." The volunteer taking the money was befuddled. She said, "What list?" He wasn't happy, but finally settled for paying the $2 senior rate. Really? Many folks were giving $5 and saying keep the change! All for a good cause, right? It left me feeling a little queasy about this guy's character.
