Why bag my own groceries?

Stone Harbor - Why bag my own groceries? Isn't that what cashiers get paid for and trained to do? To hear a "thank you for shopping at ...." from the cashiers would be nice instead of just "have a nice day" or "here you go" when giving change and your purchase. It would make me feel appreciated as a customer to hear thank you, and I would say you're welcome and thank you back. If it wasn't for the customers, they would not have a job.
