Stone Harbor - The Sept. 3 budget meeting was appalling. The Department of Public Works director was slouched over the podium like a teen forced to do his homework. "First year I've had to do a five-year plan. We just pay as things come up." Then he launched into a meandering, lifeless presentation. His demeanor was "I don't give a crap." Mayor ended the torture by stopping him. Council asked if Public Works ever looked for savings? The director looked perplexed. Pathetic. Stone Harbor must hire professional, educated, dedicated personnel to oversee departments and expenses. Is this the best we have? Order an independent audit to get information on where our taxes are going.
