Stone Harbor - Recently, the Stone Harbor lifeguards closed the beach because of lightning. At 81st St. beach the lifeguard stand was unattended and five surfers entered the water unaware the ocean was closed. The guards called them in and two lifeguard supervisors pulled up and started yelling and berating four of the five surfers, then four police vehicles pulled up. It took 45 minutes to write four tickets. This was a waste of taxpayers' money as well as this makes Stone Harbor look like a police state.
