Stone Harbor - Nice article in the Herald about not using plastic bags. I have great respect for merchants who took the ban and accommodated their customers as part of doing business. On the other hand, one major retailer made a profit center out of the ban by charging for a paper bag.
Montgomery County, Md. instituted the ban but had merchants charge for plastic and that money went to the county for recycling costs. Also, you got 10 cents if you brought your own bags.
