Stone Harbor - I agree with all these Spouts regarding beach tag checkers not doing their jobs. I propose that for Summer 2024, the borough hires a new class of hyper-vigilant and aggressive checkers. Further, I suggest that these individuals be given ‘stop and frisk’ powers when they have reasonable suspicion of beach wrongdoing. Those without tags should be detained in a holding area on 96th Street until the lifeguards get off duty at 5:00. This show of force, coupled with fair but no-nonsense beach tag enforcement policies, will make our beaches the envy of the Jersey Shore.
