Stone Harbor - In an emergency, beware of potential delays this summer in police emergency response time within the Borough of Stone Harbor. A significant safety hazard occurred when the street buckled, lifted, and started spewing sewage due to a sewer main break on heavily travelled 3rd Avenue. A call was immediately placed to 911 and after no response, another placed directly to Stone Harbor Police Department. It took almost 20 minutes for a police officer to arrive to assess the problem. The police department immediately closed the road after finally assessing the severity of the problem.
