To those who’ve shared their views on our position on the fire truck, note SHPOA is non-political and non-partisan, focused on quality of life in Stone Harbor including fiscal responsibility. The truck is one of many issues raised in our letter to the Mayor (https://www.stoneharborpoa.org/budget/) given no long-term plan and rising debt for water/sewage, flooding, beach/bay management. Other fire chiefs indicated that trucks with only 10,000 miles are often used beyond 15 years. We did not demand the purchase be cancelled, only that it be evaluated and alternatives explored.
