The spouter who remarked about use of town vehicle for commuting was not on a “high horse” but voicing an opinion. At one time the use of vehicles was a perk given instead of a raise. But that was yesterday and today employees are amply compensated. Not to forget probably 30% on top of salary is pension, vacation and medical coverage. Time to tighten the municipal budget. Plus remember if it was a hardship they could look for work closer to home. Use of standard pickup truck is probably close to 15,000 a year with cost,depreciation,insurance , gas and mechanical maintenance.
