The Oscar furor over lack of black nominees conveniently forgot one thing. Was any performance worthy based on merit? Or, does color automatically entitle you to one of the five spots in each category? I'm Caucasian and had no problem watching the NBA All-Star game recently when every player on the court was black. Why? Because they had earned their spot and deserved to be there based on merit.
