As of Oct 2022 real estate in Stone Harbor was 37% undervalued. We haven’t had a town wide reassessment since 2017. This holds true for the whole county. This is responsibility of the county tax board. A check of taxes paid via Zillow shows most properties sold in 2021 are still assessed and taxed at pre sold rate. Our council should get moving on this and bring fair and equitable taxes to the town. A proper assessment could bring added dollars to reduce our debt service.
