I feel the media should do a better job in accurately defining the VA problem. It is a VA Iraq-Afghanistan problem. It has nothing to do with or very little with the WWII, Korean and Vietnam vets who have an entirely different view of the VA. Monumental wars. That is why many Veteran fraternal organizations like the VFW, American Legion and DAV were hesitant to join in this attack on the VA, but eventually bowed to pressure. If these guys think there are long wait lists and care in the VA, they certainly will find the same and probably worse with regular non-VA or civilian hospitals.
