Glad to hear that the town is looking into alternative ideas for trash and recycling. The “tipper” truck is a great idea. I have seen them in action in Colorado and Florida. Both areas use a front/ side pickup mechanism. It takes less time to pick up. With a similar truck there is a possibility that job can be done with regular employees. This type of truck is expensive but will return big savings down the road. Buy new don’t retrofit existing equipment. Just one person’s opinion.
