The fire department continues to show the highest increases in costs of all departments again year. After adding full time fire fighters two years ago, they are now adding part time people this year. The empire continues to grow! How is it that Avalon can operate with volunteer fire fighters but Stone Harbor needs full, part time and volunteers? Maybe it's time to combine the two groups to get cost savings and better management.
