Stone Harbor / Avalon - To a lady driving an SUV that hit a poor, innocent, baby seagull outside the Wetlands Institute July 30: What you did was horrifying! There were no cars behind you and you sped up like you were trying to hit the poor thing. My son (a junior volunteer at the Wetlands) and I tried to save it but it died shortly after in his arms. My son then took it far out into the marsh where people are unlikely to see it. Next time brake for the animal and let it cross. Wouldn't you want someone to brake if your kid was in the middle of the street?
