South Dennis - Shoobies were people who visited the beach towns for the day. They brought their lunches in shoe boxes. Shoobies are, for the most part, a thing of the past. Today, summer visitors bring excitement to the shore, helping to bring alive the boardwalk, beaches, amusement rides, restaurants, local businesses and everything else that we all love about the shore. This only happens four months out of one year. When I see their faces in their cars headed back to their homes, I think about how lucky we are to live in this area, wish them a safe journey and hope they come visit again.
