South Dennis - Regarding upgrading public safety, Sea Isle City has now budgeted funding for full-time EMTs. In Dennis Township, committee buys a new ambulance for Belleplain Ambulance Service every year in exchange for emergency services to DT taxpayers at about one-third of the SIC cost of $500,000. Either way, taxpayers must foot the bill for this necessity. Same with police protections. SIC has a full-time department that costs taxpayers millions. DT pays nothing for State Police shared coverage with Upper and Woodbine. Reinstated constables on patrol would cost DT taxpayers less than a new ambulance.
