Some teachers have taken offense at being rudely told to “step up” their efforts w/ autism awareness. If the spouter who wrote that isn't a hypocrite, I suggest she also increase her own awareness by reading the article in Psychology Today citing the work of leading autism researcher Dame Uta Frith and corroborated by other researchers. 1 in 31 is a disputed #. Overdiagnosis is preventing those with other afflictions from receiving accurate care & creates fraud (see MN). I am not a denier but an advocate, having worked as a respite tutor for autistic children. Accuracy matters.
