North Cape May

Several neighbors have reported flooding of their properties and buildings after the relatively short duration storm on July 21st. The common theme: they rebuilt large homes on small lots beyond the original home’s footprint, removed existing trees, put in swimming pools and hardscaped their back yards, which does not allow drainage after rain. Has Lower Township Zoning Board addressed how much property must include grass and other permeable surfaces to prevent flooding? If not should be addressed immediately with all the construction. Imagine implications with a hurricane!
