Another good reason to include teaching civics in Common Standards is the pitiful scenes of all those college students hovering over Sanders without a clue as to how Bernie could ever get a tenth of his idealistic policies into law. As a longtime senator, shouldn't Bernie know by now there is no way conservatives would agree to free college, campaign finance changes or breaking up the Wall Street crowd? Teach kids the political facts of life.
