Sea Isle City - Why does the news media insist on getting us “ up close and personal “ on tradegies? An explosion at the candy factory in Reading is an example. Reporters all over , videos, interviews, body counts, etc. One of the primary reasons the American people are on anti anxiety drugs is the sensationalism of events by the media. We are constantly bombarded by negative “ Breaking News” . It never ends and the more sensational the better. Reporters breathless with their commentary, red banners flashing in the screen , and every superlative in the dictionary being spoken. Time to tune out.
