Sea Isle City - I read that the members of St. Joseph Church were promised that, if they contributed to the building of a new, larger church, their old church would be kept for them. Folks contributed and a new church was built. Was this promise made by the current or former pastor? If it was, then this seems like a no-brainer. Keep the promise and keep the old church. By the way, if I understand correctly, I do not accept the statement that a bishop does not get involved with decisions parishes make about their buildings. I’ll bet that the new multimillion-dollar church was not built without a bishop’s OK.
