Sea Isle City - In Avalon, parking is free near restaurants and shops on Dune Drive. Sea Isle City, on the other hand, has inadequate parking in town and requires lots of quarters when you can find it. The decision to install meters along Central Avenue between 29th and 31st Streets - where no businesses or houses exist - marked a new low for this city. Yet our town fathers continue to approve the construction of ever bigger houses, attracting larger groups and their vehicles. Should we just park on the mainland and use Jitneys exclusively on our island? Little surprise that we dine and shop elsewhere.
