Sea Isle City - In an attempt to protect the jitney business, Sea Isle City chose to ignore the benefit Uber drivers provide to an island with a serious summer parking problem. Jitneys don't start until 4 p.m. and it would be great to be able to get a ride earlier in the day. Jitneys are often so full that it is not unusual to have to wait as much as 20 minutes before one will stop. Lastly, jitneys don't offer door to door service, something particularly helpful for people who are less mobile and can't walk, whether from age, health, or overindulgence. Uber is an amenity to keep!
