Sea Isle City - Another tragic drowning last week on the beaches of New Jersey. The beach was unattended and the swimmers entered the water before lifeguard hours. These avoidable tradegies occur every year up and down the coast. Other than not being a good swimmer the primary cause is entering unguarded beaches before or after guard hours. Why not simply pass legislation making it against the law to enter the water during off hours. Attach a fine up to 500.00 to the violation. Simply Posting a sign prohibiting swimming is not working. Maybe people will think twice if they face a significant fine.
