There is a bill in the NJ state legislature to “ equitably charge auto insurance rates by lowering the rates in urban areas of the state and raising rates in suburban rating territories to subsidize the city rates. Auto insurance rating territories have been developed based on the loss experience. Congestion, auto theft frequencies, crime, unscrupulous doctors and lawyers, and jury verdicts are all issues affecting the rates. But I suppose facts don’t matter. It’s all about “ equity “ and your auto insurance premiums are not immune. Happy trails!
