Sea isle. Regarding the Pat on the back. Agreed departments from all walks working together is a given. Condolences to the family of the man who lost his life. This was a horrific tragedy. Sadly the recovery was delayed due to the lack of leadership and the knowledge that the leadership lacked, especially when they have the very equipment needed for this type of recovery however when someone lacks the experience they lack the confidence as well. Once again the panic button was hit as opposed to reacting with the resources at hand which came from far away and thank you to these departments.
Moderator's Note: According to a previous Herald report, "Sea Isle City police, fire and emergency medical services (EMS) attempted to reach the victim but were cautious after observing significant cracks in the area around the collapse and the sloping balcony. Responders determined the side of the building was unsafe and made requests for additional rescue personnel and equipment."
