Perhaps it's time for the senior citizens of the SICVFD to step aside and let the younger members put their training and qualifications to use. The newest of firefighters receive more training and qualifications in a matter of months, than the 30 year members of the department have had during their entire volunteer career. The city has much different needs in terms of fire service than it did 30 years ago. Stop getting in the way of progress.
