A local news site reported that a historic 133-year-old home, once belonging to the sister of Sea Isle's founder, Charles Landis, might be demolished. Per the report the developer considered renovating the home along with making additions but said it'd ultimately be too cost-prohibitive. He is now seeking the zoning board’s approval for a variance to build a duplex on the undersized lot. You can't blame the developer, he lawfully purchased the lot, but it would be nice if the city provided some monetary incentive in some form, maybe tax break, to preserve the house and/or relocate it.
