Homeowners spend a lot for school taxes each year, so why is there a national problem with public schools deteriorating? It's understandable in economically-depressed areas but in most communities don't the number of households paying school tax exceed the number of students attending public schools? I may be clueless, but it seems they should be getting a decent education in a wholesome environment with that kind of revenue.
