Rio Grande - As a lifelong resident of Rio Grande, I would like to say how many nice improvements have taken place here in the past 10 years. The Ockie Wisting Recreation Area and Nature Preserve is outstanding and many actives including summer concerts are taking place there. Public safety has improved substantially with increased police patrols and the opening of a new police substation in a highly visible area of Route 47. The new Comcast office, the county facility in the former Kmart and the 24-hour Walmart Supercenter are just a few of the many new businesses that have opened here.
